Us, I mean; lucky to be alive just now, watching these big games play out. Billions of dollars are at stake but that’s a sideshow. We’re working out ways for the people of the future to talk with each other. There are lots of possible outcomes; the ones that seem likely to me look mostly pretty decent.

Sometimes it’s good to have some perspective. The competition between companies can at times be quite fierce, but they’re just “big games” that don’t really matter any more than we make them. Beyond the hype, the money, the judgements, the loyalty and the vitriol, we’re incredibly fortunate to live in such a time of technological plenty. No matter where you stand, the future of technology (and ideas, communication, creation, and sharing) looks bright.
